app privacy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This explains what the My RV Life app collects, why, and what we do and do not do with it. It covers the app only. Browsing this website is covered by the store's own privacy policy.

The app is operated by Jayco Adelaide for members of the Australian RV Life Club.

The short version

  • We collect what the app needs to work, and nothing to sell.
  • There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in the app. No third party is told what you look at or where you go.
  • Your location is used only at the moment you tap a button asking for it, and is never collected in the background.
  • You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, at any time.

What we collect, and why

Your account. Your email address, and the name, phone number and home region you choose to give. Your email is how you sign in and how other members invite you to a travel group.

What you create in the app. Trips and their stops, spots you pin, places you save, notes you write, and the job cards and photos you send to the workshop.

What you send to other members. Messages in travel groups, and trips you share into a group.

Your location, only when you ask for it. When you tap "use my current location" while adding a spot, the app reads your position once and drops a pin. It is not read at any other time, it is never read while the app is closed, and no history of where you have been is kept. The app does not request background location permission at all.

Your membership. Your tier, your member number, and offers you have redeemed.

Your dealership records, if you connect them. See below.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your information, to anyone, ever.
  • We do not show you advertising.
  • There is no analytics or crash-reporting software in the app. Not Google Analytics, not Firebase, not Facebook, not anything.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not collect your contacts, your calendar, or your photo library. The app can open your camera roll only when you choose a photo to attach, and only sees the photo you pick.

Connecting your Jayco Adelaide records

If you connect your club account to your Jayco Adelaide customer record, the app can show you where your van is up to — on order, in the workshop, ready to collect.

Connecting works like this. You tell the app which email address you think we hold for you. A system inside the dealership looks that address up, and if it matches exactly one customer, emails a six-digit code to the address we hold — not to the address you typed. Entering the code proves you can read that mailbox.

Two things about that are deliberate. The address we hold never leaves the dealership, and the code itself is never stored anywhere we could read it. If there is no match, or more than one, the app says it could not connect rather than telling you anything about who we do or do not have on file.

What this creates is a link, not a copy. Your sales, service and warranty records stay in the dealership's own system. The app reads what it needs to show you.

Maps and searching for places

The app uses Google Maps to draw the map and to search for places by name.

When you search, your search text goes to our server, which asks Google on your behalf and sends you the results. Google receives the words you typed and our server's address — not your device, not your identity and not your location. We count how many searches each member makes, to keep our own costs predictable, and that count is a number rather than a record of what was searched for.

Map tiles are drawn by Google on your device, and Google's own terms apply to that, as they do in any app with a Google map in it.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of services to run the app. Each is given only what it needs.

  • Supabase — the database and sign-in behind the app. Holds your account, your trips, your spots and your messages. Hosted in Sydney, Australia.
  • Shopify — the club shop and membership. Holds your customer record if you have bought something.
  • Google Maps Platform — maps, place search and routes, as described above.
  • SugarCRM — sales enquiries, if you make one.
  • Microsoft 365 — the email the app sends you, such as a connection code or a copy of a job card.
  • Apple and Google — distribute the app itself. They do not receive your club information from us.

We do not give your information to anyone else, except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account information is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, most of it goes immediately — see Deleting your account, which sets out exactly what is removed and what is kept.

Two things outlive your account, and the deletion page explains both: messages you posted in travel groups stay in those conversations with your name removed, and Jayco Adelaide's own sales, service and warranty records are business records we are required to keep for as long as Australian law requires. Enquiries and CRM records are kept for the same period.

Keeping it safe

Access to your information is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app: every table is governed by rules that decide, per row, who may read it. Connections are encrypted. The keys that can reach your data are held on servers, never inside the app on your phone.

No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you, and we will tell the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the law requires it.

Children

The app is not intended for children. You need to be old enough to hold a club membership to use it.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

Most of it you can see and change in the app. To ask for anything else — a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion if you cannot use the app — email info@jaycoadelaide.com.au.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to sort it out. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts collecting something new, this page changes in the same release that does it. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
